After a nation-wide search for a new corporate headquarters, the Chemours Company decided to stay right where it was, in Wilmington, Delaware. The new property manager undertook an $80 million renovation to keep Chemours in its historic 108 year-old home. The renovation included modern updates as well as restoration and preservation of some of the building’s historic features. Suburban was a part of both the old and the new, restoring 100 year-old mosaic floors and creating a custom water-jet stone medallion for the lobby. For this unique project, Suburban fabricated and installed custom stone treads for four spectacular formal staircases. In addition, our skilled craftsmen restored original terrazzo and antique stone mosaic floors. They also installed new terrazzo elevator lobbies, modern porcelain and ceramic tile flooring as well.
